The 2024 HLF-MSP Facilitates Knowledge Sharing on Mineral Downstreaming to Empower African Nations

Jakarta, InfoPublik – The High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) 2024 has provided invaluable insights and knowledge transfer to African nations regarding the downstreaming of mineral energy resources.
This was stated by Dewi Justicia Meidiwaty, Director for Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the HLF MSP Day 1 Press Conference in Bali on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Meidi stated that Indonesia has already taken a significant step ahead of African nations in mineral downstreaming, thus enabling the high-level partnership forum to provide valuable lessons to African countries on how to optimize their mineral resource utilization.
“Regarding geothermal energy, Meidi mentioned that Indonesia already has an established partnership with Kenya. The collaboration between Pertamina Geothermal Energy and Kenya is one of the agreements expected to be finalized during the upcoming meeting,”
In addition to providing knowledge transfer on mineral downstreaming, Meidi mentioned that Indonesia, through its state-owned enterprise Pertamina Geothermal Energy, has established a partnership with the African nation of Kenya.
Meidi emphasized her expectation that the forum would facilitate knowledge sharing on mineral resource management, empowering African nations to optimize their own resources.
Abdul Kadir Jailani, General Director for Asia Pacific and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that the IAF high-level forum is expected to draw an attendance of over 1400 participants. They came from various sectors, including government, private sector, and foreign representatives.
“The 2 nd IAF will be attended by over 1400 participants that come from diverse backgrounds, including government representatives, private sectors or business leaders, academics, and honorary consuls from various African countries, “ said Abdul Kadir.
Furthermore, he emphasized that 2nd IAF , which will be held until September 3rd, will prioritize discussions on the food, energy, health, and mineral sectors.
