Badung, 3 September 2024 – The 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) in 2024 is concluded on Tuesday (3 September 2024) evening. Indonesia closed 32 business cooperation deals with a total value of more than US$3.5 billion.
During the two-day 2nd IAF meeting, several important agreements were made including the signing of four business deals in the strategic industrial sector, nine in the health sector, and six in the new and renewable energy (EBT) business sectors.
Director for Africa at the Directorate General of Asia-Pacific and Africa Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Dewi Justicia Meidiwaty, made the statement on Tuesday (3 September 2024) in Nusa Dua, Bali.
She mentioned that the 2nd IAF facilitated not only State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and private companies but also Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to achieve potential business cooperations.
This is evident from the 16 business deals sealed between Indonesian MSMEs and African companies participating in the exhibition. The exhibition lasted for two days and received visits from five African leaderst. "This is what makes this forum more inclusive," said Dewi.
Additionally, the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) for development cooperation with Africa was also signed on the sidelines of the 2nd IAF event.
The 2nd IAF has strengthen economic and business cooperation between Indonesia and Africa, opening up new opportunities for growth and progress in both regions. (MOFA/TR/Elvira Inda Sari/WS/PR).
