Press Release of the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships

Jakarta, 15/08/2024 – Indonesia strives to encourage global commitment to strengthening collective action and inclusive cooperation and formulating innovative and effective solutions to face the increasingly complex global challenges. Director for Foreign Policy and International Development Cooperation at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Hendra Prabandani, said the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnership (HLF MSP) was a significant effort to bring together various stakeholders, be it government, private sector, development partners, and civil society organizations to create multi-stakeholder partnerships that encourage the creation of collaborative platforms. "We want to emphasize the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders to strengthen collective action to ensure inclusive collaboration and cooperation, finding innovative solutions to solve global problems which we know are becoming increasingly complex," said Director Hendra, Thursday (15/ 8).

The HLF MSP Forum is also expected to encourage the growth of developing countries through trade and investment. One of the focuses of discussion in the 2024 HLF MSP is international development cooperation, with the sub-theme "Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Strengthening South-South and Triangular Cooperation". Discussions at the HLF MSP will highlight how South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) can increase economic productivity in developing countries. Expectantly, Indonesia and other developing countries can increase opportunities and have easier access to new technology to improve their economic productivity and efficiency of integration into global trade through this forum. "HLF MSP is initiatied by Indonesia as a response to current multidimensional global problems. "We are trying to reduce the development xgap between developed and developing countries," said Director Hendra.

Moreover, the HLF MSP is also a continuation of Indonesia's G20 Presidency, which has produced a road map that mainstreams SSTC as a modality to increase productivity and competitiveness. Apart from that, this forum is aimed to become a platform for developing real-impact solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) target in 2030. "This is a manifestation of Indonesia's leadership in global solidarity. We remember the last G20 Presidency produced a Roadmap for Stronger Recovery and Resilience in Developing Countries. "So this will continue the relay of what the Indonesian Government has built to date," concluded Director Hendra.
