Jakarta, 28 August 2024 – Bogat Widyatmoko, Deputy for Political, Legal, Defense, and Security Affairs of the National Development Planning Ministry (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), underscored that the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) 2024 in Bali on 1—3 September 2024 will overcome various global crises that could have an impact on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 and the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.
"We are facing a challenging global situation, including the triple planetary crisis. It leads to a slowdown in the SDGs achievement by 2030 worldwide. This motivates Indonesia to organize HLF MSP 2024," he said at a media briefing on Wednesday, 28 August.
HLF MSP 2024 will be an important platform for global leaders, policymakers, and representatives from different sectors to discuss strategies and collaborative actions in the face of increasingly complex global challenges. The Forum will also affirm Indonesia's leadership on the international stage and accelerate transformation through collaboration between various parties.
He also revealed that the forum will support the drafting of the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025-2045, which is currently in its the final stage. One of the main focuses of RPJPN is the achievement of the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, where Indonesia is expected to become a leader in the region and among Global South countries.
"HLF MSP 2024 will be an event to strengthen Indonesia's position in the global context and promote inclusive and sustainable development cooperation," he added.
The Forum will be attended by more than 740 registered participants, with the number of registrants increasing to 1,105 people. In addition, the forum will feature 83 global speakers from various sectors who will discuss crucial issues related to sustainable development and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
HLF MSP 2024 is expected serve as a catalyst for transformative actions that fosters the right to more inclusive development and brings a spirit of equality in partnership between developing countries.
"We are optimistic that the results of this forum will make a significant contribution to the achievement of the SDGs and become a foothold for future global cooperation, especially in the context of South-South cooperation," Mr. Bogat concluded.
