Badung, 31 August 2024 – Indonesia is ready to hold the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) 2024 in Bali on 1—3 September 2024. This forum is a significant platform to strengthen global development cooperation that is more inclusive, effective, and sustainable.

Carrying the theme "Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships: Towards a Transformative Change", the HLF MSP 2024 will lay the foundation for the Summit of the Future, which will be held in New York on 22—23 September 2024.

It was stated by the Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense, and Security of the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, Bogat Widyatmoko, on Saturday (31 August 2024) in Nusa Dua, Bali.

"The keywords in the HLF MSP forum are transformation, collaboration, cooperation, and sustainability. These are Indonesia’s motives to face global challenges and realize transformation and inclusiveness of development," said Deputy Bogat.

To date, 1,275 participants from 26 countries have confirmed their attendance. This number comprises 782 government representatives, 102 international organizations, 107 non-governmental organizations, 128 private sector representatives, eight philanthropists, nine think tank institutions, 56 academic communities, nine multilateral banks, and 70 security officers. This number exceeds the initial target of 1,000 participants, indicating great enthusiasm from various parties.


Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense, and Security of the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, Bogat Widyatmoko, Saturday (8 August 2024) said the keywords in the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) 2024 on September 1-3, 2024 in Bali are transformation, collaboration, cooperation, and sustainability.

The HLF MSP 2024 will also present 102 global speakers from various backgrounds, including government, private sector, academics, philanthropists, NGOs, and international organizations. In addition, this forum is supported by 33 partners who are ready to participate in the exhibition and a well-prepared cyber and physical security system.

"We are very optimistic. The increasing number of participants in the last few days shows great enthusiasm from various parties," explained Deputy Bogat.

Main Agenda and Support from Indonesia

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, is scheduled to welcome all representatives of countries in the Welcoming Dinner session and open the main session in the Joint Leaders Session Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) and HLF MSP 2024 on the second day.

The High-Level Plenary Session on the second day will be opened by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency, Suharso Monoarfa, followed by keynote speeches from the President-elect of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and the Prime Minister of Timor Leste, Xanana Gusmão.

In addition to the main session, this forum will hold 12 parallel events and 17 side events which are slated to last until 3 September 2024 at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua. Various topics relevant to sustainable development will be discussed in this forum, including strategies to improve cross-sector and cross-country cooperation in facing global challenges.

The 2024 HLF MSP in Bali is expected to be an effective platform in promoting policy dialogue and strengthening global commitment to sustainable development.
